Watercolors: From Renaissance Court Classes

Artist: Sheila Hori

At the Chicago Cultural Center, Nestling here is Renaissance Court. Director Pat O'Malley maintains a full schedule of programs since 1992. Art teachers Jackie Zevin and Valerie Richards coax amazing art from raggle-taggle seniors, ho! In an exhibit titled Large as Life, we showed to beautiful advantage six-foot self-portraits on City Hall office pillars. They were painted side by side in Jackie's class on Ren Court walls. Models pose nude for life drawing once a week. A gallery, first floor west, shows only senior artists and wows visitors. I draw from life at Renaissance Court.
